Since 2009, the associations Animath and Women & Mathematics have been co-organizing these events several times a year all over France. In 2020, with the shift to digital, some sessions were held via video conference.
Taking action now for greater diversity in scientific and technical fields is what the associations Women & Mathematics and Animath, with the support of the Blaise Pascal Foundation, aim for by organizing the « Girls, Math, and Computer Science Days: A Bright Equation. »
During these days, young volunteer girls come to learn about careers related to mathematics and computer science, work on the weight of stereotypes associated with these disciplines, and meet female scientists working in these fields.
The program includes a conference, a workshop on careers and stereotypes, speed meetings with professionals, and a forum theater piece.
Each day takes place in a higher education institution. It’s an opportunity for participants to discover one and project themselves into the future.
