🎙️Interview with Christelle Prince, who works in the User Support and Experience Office at the Digital Directorate for Education. We had the pleasure of speaking with her during the Educatech Expo, held at Paris Porte de Versailles from November 13 to 15.
« Following a report from the General Inspectorate, it was recommended that students, before reaching 8th grade, should already be working on programming and coding to enhance their mathematical skills, » she explains, introducing the initiative behind the distribution of robotics kits.
In response to this recommendation, the DNE (Direction du Numérique pour l’Éducation) teams decided to develop this Robotics Kit, funded by the SGPI (Secrétariat Général Pour l’Investissement), and distribute it to all interested school districts, except those in TNE (Territories of Digital Education).
This Robotics Kit includes several robots, at different levels, along with games that help students learn programming and coding from CM1 to CM2. Sent to trainers (ERUN, CPD, and digital education advisors), this initiative supports teacher training and pedagogical guidance.
Teachers are not left without support! A Magistère community dedicated to the Robotics Kit has been created, offering resources, practical tools, discussion forums, training sessions, and regular updates.
« Through this community, we communicate directly with educators, and they can also share their experiences and questions with us, » she highlights.
Each user feedback will be showcased on the Primàbord platform, « to make this initiative a collaborative and practice-sharing experience, » she adds.
The goal is to encourage sharing and dialogue between different academies and regions.
All kits were shipped at the end of the 2024 school year, and the experiments started in September.
« There is no strict procedure in place, but the idea is to collect user feedback so that we can highlight and promote each experience, » she concludes.
