🎙️ Interview with Christelle Prince, Deputy Head of the User Support and Experience Office at the Digital Directorate for Education (DNE). We had the pleasure of speaking with her during the Educatech Expo, held at Paris Porte de Versailles from November 13 to 15.

The Charter for Education in Digital Culture and Citizenship was launched in a particular context following the Grenelle de l’Éducation and the États Généraux du Numérique. This topic also resonates at the Council of Europe level, « to establish common principles and values for education and culture in digital citizenship, » notes Christelle Prince.

In fact, 2025 will be a year focused on digital citizenship education for the Council of Europe.

« The charter was introduced about two years ago, but it lacked guidance, resources, and, most importantly, detailed explanation, » she adds.

To make the charter understandable and accessible to all, it was necessary to go beyond the 14 articles it comprises.

The Charter: 3 Pillars and 14 Articles

This accompanying guide is divided into three sections:

  • An explanatory booklet that delves into each article using keywords.
  • A section with educational resources tailored to different grade levels, from elementary school to high school.
  • A section of additional resources including infographics, presentations, games, and themes such as AI or digital commons.

A Dedicated m@gistère Space

All these additional resources are also accessible on a dedicated m@gistère platform.
“A m@gistère community where we invite teachers, trainers, and educational staff to participate, contribute, engage in forum discussions, train themselves, and download resources featured in the guide—and beyond,” she explains.

Partnerships with Tralalere and their characters « Vinz and Lou, » as well as the magazine Chut Explore, have further enriched the resources available.

The goal is for everyone to feel involved in the values promoted by the charter and, above all, to ensure it thrives.

« The value of the accompanying guide is that it brings everyone together in one space to discuss and exchange ideas—to show that this charter is already alive and has many promising years ahead, » she concludes.
