The launch of MaClasseTI.fr in 2023, a free platform connected to the GAR, marked a significant milestone for Texas Instruments. It now offers a comprehensive ecosystem, both physical and digital, available to teachers and students in high school. For the 2024 school year, MaClasseTI.fr unveiled its latest developments, showcasing its ambition to make students love math and help teachers save time.
A More Useful and Efficient Class Module
The Class module was designed as a digital extension of the classroom. Teachers using the platform find a wide range of activities organized by themes, levels, and school types. These activities can be assigned as exercises to the entire class, and each student can easily access them once logged in.
A new feature has been added to the Class module: the networking of virtual calculators used by students connected to MaClasseTI.fr. Teachers can now view, project, and remotely control their students’ calculators online, and even network them.
Students can now collaborate in this shared environment to solve mathematical games and challenges created and made available by their teachers. Interactivity and collaborative learning, highly appreciated by all, take shape thanks to this digital platform.
“Viewing all students’ screens can be reserved for the teacher’s computer or projected for the entire class. Students can then compare their results with those of the whole class, observe mistakes, which allows the teacher to emphasize the most common errors. The immediate analysis of various responses keeps students alert and energizes the lesson” explains Carlos Coelho from Texas Instruments.
Video Tutorials for Vocational High Schools
The video tutorials on MaClasseTI.fr are highly valued by both students and teachers.
Following the release of 40 tutorials in early 2024 to inspire a love for math in all students, 20 new tutorials for vocational high schools were added to the catalog for the new school year. Easily accessible thanks to a clear and intuitive layout and extended search functions, these tutorials help students review and master the use of the calculator in all areas where it’s applied in math and science.
The PLUS of MaClasseTI.fr Tutorials:
- Reliable, created by teachers for students and teachers
- Downloadable in PDF format
- Side display of the TI-83 Premium CE calculator emulator
- Associated quizzes to allow students to practice while validating knowledge acquisition
A More Accessible Platform
MaClasseTI.fr was designed to help all students succeed in math, including those with disabilities. This is why Texas Instruments has added accessibility options to all pages, enabling better viewing and readability. Three settings can be adjusted: contrast, theme, and font.
MaClasseTI.fr’s default font, Lato, is favored by Google for its readability. The same goes for the Verdana font, particularly suitable for reading on mobile phones.
The needs of visually impaired individuals have been taken into account with the option to choose the Luciole font, specifically designed to facilitate reading through particular contrast and serif. Increasing contrast, in both light and dark modes, also helps reduce eye strain.
Special attention was also given to individuals with dyslexia, with the option to display content in the OpenDyslexic font.
Since its launch in 2023, MaClasseTI.fr has been a huge success, as Texas Instruments confirmed during meetings across different French regions. Moreover, a group meeting gathering teachers from all types of institutions and levels helped validate the quality of the platform’s features and continue implementing new developments to be unveiled for the 2024-2025 school year.
