Cned and the French Handball Federation (FFHandball) have signed a partnership in favor of the schooling and training of high-level handball players.
Jean-Noël Tronc, General Director of Cned, and Philippe Bana, President of the French Handball Federation, have signed a collaboration agreement regarding the support of its players in terms of both compulsory schooling and post-baccalaureate training. The signing of this agreement follows the continuity of partnerships previously established with the French Tennis Federation, the French Canoe-Kayak and Paddle Sports Federation, and the French Motorsport Academy.
Cned, as part of its public service mission to provide distance education and training to students who cannot follow a face-to-face curriculum, including students engaging in intensive sports activities, is partnering with FFHandball to ensure that its recognized high-level athletes can reconcile sports performance, academic success, and personal development.
From secondary education to post-baccalaureate, Cned is a training partner
With its diverse training offerings, Cned can support high-level handball players from middle school to higher education. Since 2022, Cned has been involved in the educational organization of the Handball Hope Pole in Hauts-de-France by offering an adapted program. History and geography classes are entirely provided through Cned in coordination with a subject teacher who ensures pedagogical support. By making the teaching of this subject more flexible in terms of timing, hopefuls have the opportunity to train during weekdays on slots normally dedicated to academic training.
For post-baccalaureate training, Cned supports all athletes wishing to pursue higher education alongside sports practice. Thus, tailored BTS (Higher Technician’s Certificate) programs are offered to them. While the BTS program usually lasts for 2 years, Cned offers a BTS program spread over 3 or 4 years. Without compromising academic requirements, extending the training period allows high-level athletes to follow a curriculum more compatible with their careers, which require full dedication to training and competition. The partnership between Cned and FFHandball aims to sustain and broaden this cooperation to all high-level handball players.
Training high-level athletes: a social responsibility issue
The training of high-level athletes during their careers has become crucial for their professional transition. Therefore, Cned, with its expertise in distance and asynchronous education and its extensive training offerings, positions itself as the training partner for all high-level athletes preparing for a second career after retiring from sports. Through its programs and guidance services, Cned supports athletes throughout their transition, providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in various professional fields.
As the Olympics approach in France, we are very proud to support the world of sports and to partner with the most internationally acclaimed French federation. Cned puts all its pedagogical expertise and the excellence of its educational and professional training offerings at the service of our athletes.
Jean-Noël Tronc, General Director of Cned
This partnership confirms our commitment to providing the best possible conditions for our young handball players to thrive. Beyond sports performance, FFHandball is committed to ensuring their professional success. This collaboration with Cned will therefore strengthen the link between the sports and academic worlds.
