Narjiss Aoukach is a French teacher in secondary school in Quebec. She conducted an ExplorCamp workshop as part of LUDOVIA#BE, held in Spa from November 1st to 3rd, on the theme « How have social media become essential learning tools for our students? »

« Our students are really connected to social media, so we had to find a way to reach them through this channel. » she explains.

The idea is to use tools favored by young people to motivate them in their learning.

We started with YouTube because I ‘flipped’ my class, and I created video capsules that my students could watch at home.

Then, « I saw the enthusiasm for TikTok and the students’ engagement with short videos, so I created a TikTok page. »

She took the opportunity to explain to students how to use social media properly, how to gather information, protect themselves, respect privacy, and handle personal data. She also created a charter in collaboration with her students on the use of social media in class.

Find Narjiss’s full testimony in the video above.
