Bookinou is a physical device (a storyteller) and a collaborative platform that allows the creation, sharing and discovery of audio and educational content to develop children’s language skills from kindergarten onwards.

The solution is simple: the more we read to children, the better they learn to read. This helps them develop their vocabulary, oral comprehension, memorisation and love of reading (essential!).

The physical component allows children to listen to the audio story of any book, page by page.
The mobile application allows teachers and parents to download audio books, record stories and create educational activities.

250,000 children use Bookinou to explore reading and 10% of schools are equipped. The national education system supports Bookinou.

Our mission is to instil a love of reading and make it accessible to all children. That is why we have created a companion device that reads books to children.

Nomadic library: Bookinou circulates with family books from one family to another, similar to a comfort object (like a teddy bear) that teachers entrust to a different child in the class each week. Reading reaches households far from the literary world.

Some figures on Bookinou today:

  • More than 4,000 schools are users.
  • Support from the national education system.
  • 25% of schools are part of the Priority Education Network (REP / REP+).
  • 87% of teachers report that Bookinou increases children’s reading time.
  • 94% of teachers recommend Bookinou to their colleagues.

Bookinou was the winner of the 2023 Education Trophies at KED23.
